A month of activity:  We began passing through the dust trail of Comet Swift-Tuttle on July 23; activity will end August 22. 

Peak activity will be August 12.  They're figuring an average of 80 to 100 meteors per hour.  Wow.

"This is a good year for the Perseids because the Moon won't be too bright, and the Earth might be passing through an extra filament of dust for the first time on August 11.  The annual Perseid meteor shower is coming, and astronomers say it could be unusually good this year."

Aw dang it...August 12 is a Thursday (work night).    I'm *not* going to pass the show up, though.
