Re: Space Competition sponsored by Mars Society - Competition on Interplanetary Economy

What about a competition for university students to show in some detail the development of an Interplanetary Economy with the locations of Earth, Moon, Mars and Asteroids.

The students must show what industrial sectors would go first up to a self-sustainable economy locally and interplanetary.

What do you think ? and What could be the reward for the competition ?

Re: Space Competition sponsored by Mars Society - Competition on Interplanetary Economy

There have already been similar contests for designing habitats etc.. But it would help if we actually had something more systematical to plot the development outward. So I think it's a good idea, might even show us some low cost R&D that we could do and which will be needed sooner or later.

If it's sponsored by the Mars Society the reward could be a trip to the Mars Desert or Flashline Arctic Station.
