Created/Simulated Undersea Bogs for Bog Iron

It has occurred that we could create artificial Methane seeps, to simulate early Earth environments, and perhaps process a mineral like iron with that.

You could take brine from a desalination plant and fill a basin. Then add organic matter and Iron bearing fine materials. This might result in the production of Methane and a form of dissolved Iron. A method to extract the iron would be wanted.
This should cause the greens to froth at the mouth and drop into perversions such as I imagine they are prone to.
