Voyager 1 is Alive and Well (although scarred a bit)

A relative sent this report by Ashley Strickland of CNN...

It is the best written of a number that have appeared recently, in my judgement:

The details of how memory is / was managed are of potential interest to deep-dive programmers.

A hopeful note at the end of the report is that (apparently) a few young people have decided to take an interest in the every increasing problem of how to keep that early computing technology working.

here is the topic containing Voyager - Interstellar mission

Its not the first time Voyager 1 has gone into garbled message mode getting repaired Voyager-1 sends readable data again from deep space
