We have two ** real ** engineers in the forum, in 2024.
An Index level category for engineering would be designed to hold examples of engineering from human history, as well as proposals for Mars, or elsewhere in the Solar System.
My idea for this topic is that it would be curated by a ** real ** engineer, who would volunteer to examine posts that might be contributed by anyone.
Not all posts would qualify for this forum upon first submission, just as a paper submitted to a refereed journal is often not accepted on the first pass.
What I have in mind is slowly adding value to the forum over time, so that it becomes a valued resource for folks who are in the field already, or are planning to make the long trip to Mars to carry out an engineering activity of some kind.
We have a ** lot ** of useful knowledge and advice already present in NewMars, but it is scattered widely.
