Hi all,
With the increased traffic that this year has brought, these forums are in need of more attention to keep things tidy - topics in the right place, and spam summarily deleted. Regulars here will know that I have not been visiting as much as before, which is mainly due to my dwindling free time caused by the PhD I'm pursuing. As a result of all of these things, I have decided to appoint Josh Cryer as a moderator for the New Mars forums.
Josh has been a member of New Mars since it began, and is one of the most prolific and enthusiastic posters here. I'm happy that he has accepted the role of moderator and I'm sure that he'll be able to make even more of a contribution to these forums now.
As a moderator, Josh will have the ability to move and delete any post or thread, in addition to other administrative functions. If you have any problems or questions regards these forums, please just post them to the Meta New Mars forum as usual.
Oh, and Happy New Year everyone!

Bahah! I feel like I've recieved knighthood!
No, really, thanks for the kind words, Adrian. I've always fancied myself as the more crazier poster here.

Hah! Thanks Adrian. And I meant to tell you, best wishes on your phd. I never could do that university/college thing. You're to be admired by the less educated here (not to say of course that this forum is not full of some of the brightest people I've ever met online!).

Congratulations on what can only be described as the honour of a noble and well-deserved investiture.
Go get 'em, Josh!

*Oh, I get it. Yes, I can see through this thinly-disguised plot (hey you whippersnappers, you can't fool everybody!)...20-somethings taking over the boards.
Sheesh.
Congrats and good luck, Josh.

We don't have to bow to you, do we?
All hail the enlightened rule of our new tyrant, Josh.

Bah, nah.
Hopefully I won't have to do anything. I'm lazy, as you guys well know.

Josh, does this mean you need to wear a suit and tie when you log on, now?

If Adrian and Josh are both 'Super' Administrators, which one is the side-kick?
Josh may not wear a suit and tie, but something tells me he is wearing some kind of spandex tights!

He said these things at the hearings, but i don't think he offended anyone, he was telling the truth. He didn't exactly say the Colombia crew died for nothing, only that it was a an almost criminal waste of lives to keep launching people in dangerous craft while they didn't go out of LEO.
The truth may hurt, but Bob is certainly not the only one with these views, people that'd say NASA was doing fine are nuts, NASA NEEDED the critical review, that's what the hearings were for in the first place.
I've read a lot more acidic criticism than Bob Zubrin's, at least he points out the flaws and comes up with an alternative, most people only critisize.
BTW, isn't this in the wrong thread?
