This topic has been sitting idle since 2012 ... I just read it from the top.  Only GW Johnson is still here, after all these years.

The folks who took part seemed (to me) to be seriously engaged, although Louis played his usual role of feigning ignorance.

Louis generated a LOT of impressive writing by many NewMars members, by feigning ignorance.

To the core issue however.... It is possible all the Mars Society work with MDRS, along with numerous other organizations, may be building up a base of knowledge of how to do the Mars adventure with success and no loss of life.  If there ** is ** such a base, it seems to me it is fairly well dispersed.
