SpaceNut, that is interested.  Elements deficient in neutrons tend to undergo positron decay.  This is detected as gamma emission, because positrons rapidly annihilate as they collide with electrons in orbitals.  But these neutron deficient nuclei are suggested to be stable or ling lived.  Which raises the question of why we havn't found them in nature before now.  It could be that they cannot be synthesised by stars.  This accounts for why berylium is so rare, despite being only element 4 on the periodic table.  It does not readily form in stars and is rapidly broken down when it does.
