The Silurian Hypothesis

'Reviewed by a human'
links to real human voices on radio
Astrophysicist Adam Frank and NASA director Gavin Schmidt have proposed a thought experiment known as the Silurian hypothesis, which postulates that ancient, advanced civilizations might have existed on Earth before humans. Named after the Silurian period, the oldest era in the fossil record, the hypothesis emerged from a conversation between Frank and Schmidt. Although they do not believe it to be true, they acknowledge that it cannot be entirely dismissed and consider what signals such civilizations might leave for those in the future.

This announcement showed up recently when I start Gemini, and today I decided to pay attention to it.
Study smarter with Gemini
Test your knowledge with interactive quizzes
Ask Gemini to quiz you on a topic, and get instant feedback on your answersLearn from textbooks with Gemini
Access material from OpenStax textbooks by typing “@OpenStax” within your prompt
In connection with his book project, GW Johnson and I have been talking/emailing about how to learn the course materials, and what prerequisites are needed for success.
One of the crucial skill sets we agree upon are:
addition tables
subtraction tables
multiplication tables
division tables
There are many more such bodies of knowledge that students world wide are expected to learn and understand.\
Memorization of some of these allow for advanced work in fields such as mathematics.
Many of us humans have memorized facts about the Universe, but often those memory creation episodes occur in the midst of activity designed to learn something else.
In any case, I am intrigued by the possibility that Google's new learning aid via Gemini might be useful.

In trying to follow the clues scattered around the Google Gemini announcement, I found this site:

So far I've found nothing to explain how to contribute to the project.
It had to have started ** somewhere ** and a possible connection seems to be Rice University.

Update after experimenting with the quiz feature of Gemini ....
It quickly became apparent that memorizing all the data that we humans take for granted inside our brains took years of hard work.
I have mercifully forgotten all that work, and just enjoy the effortless functionality that came from it.
