Ian

I think that some people are nervous about stuff from Mars contaminating the Earth.

Ian

What are you going to do to make sure someone doesn't shoot down a spacecraft approaching the Earth on it's way home from Mars. I don't know if it's actually Space Command that might do it or another group of people saying that. I think that you should make sure that this doesn't happen in the future so that if people can go home from Mars they can.

Ian

I heard on Space.com's message board that either Space Command or some other group would shoot down any spacecraft returning from Mars. What are you going to do about this?

#229 Re: Human missions » Storing Energy on the Moon - Storing it in batteries. » 2002-04-16 06:32:48

Ian

Maybe there's some way to store the energy that is collected on the moon in batteries and then beam it to Earth. That would solve the problem of the day night cycle interfering with the generation of power on the Moon.

#230 Re: Human missions » Oxygen Supplies - Oxygen Usage » 2002-04-05 06:20:15

Ian

On the way to Mars and Once you get to Mars, you will obviously have to carry oxygen with you. Will oxygen be brought back and forth from Earth to refill the supply? How long would you expect it to last once you got to Mars.? Once you get there there will probably be a certain amount of oxygen to use. How do you expect to get a refill of oxygen once on Mars?

Ian

I was watching the Cosmos video "Travels through space and time" and I saw Carl Sagan show designs of different kinds of starships that the British Interplanetary Society drew up. One of them was Project Orion. Has anyone in here heard of this?

#232 Re: Martian Politics and Economy » Martian independence - One kid's own opinion and speculation. » 2002-03-20 13:33:49

Ian

Under a world suffering flooding and overpopulation, and governed by undemocratic multinationals, I can see Martian Independence being a very violent thing. But that's not our world.

Undemocratic multinationals? Since people travel all over the world and communicate back and forth through satellites and the internet, I can see the world becoming more democratic with the digital revolution. And that part about communication with Mars. Didn't you hear that there's going to be a mars internet. People are getting connected to the internet every day.

#233 Re: Human missions » Space Bus - What's with the space bus idea? » 2002-02-11 18:46:21

Ian

Buzz Aldrin told the Inquirer about the Space Bus Idea.

What's with the Space bus idea of it oribiting the sun and then going to Mars that Buzz Aldrin proposed that I heard about?

#234 Re: Not So Free Chat » Economics - workforce » 2002-01-08 19:24:35

Ian

What's All this stuff about the National Science Foundation preparing a 21'st century workforce? I'd probably want to be the one who's doing the preparing, not the other way around. I don't want to be trapped in somiething like that. I found this websight workforce.com I traced it to California. When I get into Collage, I'll probably do some research about certain institutions that produce workforce and talk about "Human Resources".
