My gut feeling is I feel the idea is very crazy Hoagland style or von Daniken or conspiracy-ish but when respected scientists have looked at it people take the idea serious. I am also not a Paleontologist nor Archaeologist.
If an ancient civilization was on Earth would it also be on Mars

Could ancient aliens have built an advanced civilization before our own? Will future civilizations ever find traces of humans?

Would it be possible to detect an industrial civilization in the geological record?
https://ntrs.nasa.gov/api/citations/202 … 000027.pdf
A thought experiment which assesses modern science's ability to detect evidence of a prior advanced civilization, perhaps several million years ago. Presented in a 2018 paper by Adam Frank, an astrophysicist at the University of Rochester, and Gavin Schmidt, director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Frank and Schmidt imagined an advanced civilization before humans and pondered whether it would "be possible to detect an industrial civilization in the geological record". They argue as early as the Carboniferous era (~350 million years ago) "there has been sufficient fossil carbon to fuel an industrial civilization comparable with our own". However, they also wrote: "While we strongly doubt that any previous industrial civilization existed before our own, asking the question in a formal way that articulates explicitly what evidence for such a civilization might look like raises its own useful questions related both to astrobiology and to Anthropocene studies." The term "Silurian hypothesis" was inspired by the fictional species called the Silurians from the British television series Doctor Who.

Could Earth Have Once Harbored a Pre-Human Industrial Civilization?

Forget Ancient Aliens. Say hello to the “Silurian hypothesis.”
Complex life on our planet has existed for at least 400 million years. Yet as a species, we only managed to create an industrial civilization around 300 years ago. But, what if an earlier industrial civilization existed on Earth millions of years ago? If that were so, how would we be able to prove it—or disprove it? This is the crux of the Silurian hypothesis, a fascinating thought experiment that appeared in a study published in 2018 in the International Journal of Astrobiology.

First Martian life likely broke the planet with climate change, made themselves extinct

In a seven-hour experiment which took place in September this year, algae were carried by a helium balloon to an altitude of 30,000 meters and survived for four hours in lower than minus 30 degrees Celsius with intense ultraviolet light and oxygen deprivation, according to a report from the Changjiang Daily based in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province.
From this it is not known if this is fresh or salt water algae which was experimented with. Oxygen deprived is not the same as co2 enriched and there is no other data to support or not as there is no observations of the algae onboard the ride towards space.
Needs way more experimentation...

Chinese researchers have demonstrated that algae can survive in a Mars-like environment during four experiments since 2019, raising the hope that mankind might be able to turn the barren planet into an earth-like green one in the future.
