"long-term deficit of water"
Water Leaks
• Multiple failures caused water to enter cabin
– Toxicity varies from low (de-iodinated water) to moderate
(urine)
• Common leak paths are through seals, Quick
Disconnects (QDs), etc
– QD leaks can be mitigated by keeping QDs connected
– Seal leaks usually terminal to ORU and requires replacement
with proper seals
• Water bags tend to leak around fittings when mishandled

Hindu news in 2019 reported that ISRO chairman said India will not join the International Space Station and will instead build a 20 tonne space station, Orbital Reef the planned low Earth orbit (LEO) space station, Starlab a name given to the planned LEO (low earth orbit) and reports of Axiom Station, a potential future space station.

As planned, by 11 launches and on-orbit missions, China has completed the assembly and started the official operation of the space station. With the completion and operation of the Tiangong space station, China will become the third country able to build and operate space stations independently after the Soviet Union and the United States. While operating the space station, China will make pioneering contributions to the peaceful use of space for mankind. In a research paper recently published in Space: Science & Technology, specialists from Institute of Spacecraft System Engineering, China Academy of Space Technology introduce the design of the Tiangong space station, summarize the technical characteristics of the Tiangong space station, and discuss the future application and development of the Tiangong space station.
It is good to see you back on the board after the recent outage!
I waited a day to see if anyone would pick up on your post.
Please consider reporting on any news you may be able to find about ESA thinking about a station. I get the impression that as a consensus organization, ESA may not be able to innovate quickly, but even a group working with consensus can achieve at a high level, as they have demonstrated.
FYI ... assuming you've not been following the forum closely in recent times, SpaceNut is offline due to hardware issues. He does check in by smartphone from time to time.
I note your having been a member of an early Wave of NewMars members, from 2004.

Airbus and US space exploration firm Voyager Space announced Wednesday a joint venture to develop Starlab, a commercial alternative to replace the International Space Station (ISS) by the end of the decade. The US-led venture with footing in Germany, where a number of Airbus Defence and Space sites are located, will "reliably meet the known demand from global space agencies while opening new opportunities for commercial users," Matthew Kuta, president of Voyager Space, said in a statement.
