Re: Your Favorite Sci-Fi Author? - ...or am I making a bad assumption here?

*Has anyone here read Perry Rhodan, the German sci-fi series?  I tried reading a few of those stories as a kid...I just couldn't "get" the premise of PR.  Maybe it was a cultural thing mixed with being so young, or perhaps the person[s] who translated into English from the German did a bad job of it  ::shrugs::

Anyway, I'd like to hear from anybody who has read Perry Rhodan, and your impressions of it.  Star Trek it ain't.  And speaking of Star Trek, I suppose you all have noticed my new avatar.  Hubba, hubba -- he's soooooo cute!  wink
