Freedom of speech is a funny thing, and I don't think it means what people act like it means.
The first amendment only applies to the government, not to the Mars Society. It could come down tomorrow that only Zubrinite posts would be allowed on NewMars, and that would be that (although they would have to find someone else to enforce it).
Having said that, I've always thought free speech was vital to the good functioning of the forum. As long as people steer clear of a few clearly delineated types of speech (which in general are the kinds that push people out of the forum or could cause legal liability for NewMars and TMS) people can say whatever they want to.

Clips I see from the Republican debate look like a crazy mess, Trump is not there I guess he's both banned and didn't want to attend anyways and maybe he's facing a legal battle of over 90 + charges. Chris Christie hits at what can not hit back, attacks a candidate not there he had an interesting ChatGPT bot comment. DeSantis might be stalling, crime and abortion featured by all on the debate, Russia was a topic funding or supporting the war in Ukraine. The costs of war got boo'ed but Nikki Haley looks stronger she called Trump the most 'disliked', Pence throws insults at the new guy and hits back with 'Rookie' comments. Tim Scott was ok when he spoke but drowned out by a shouting match, they say Doug Burgum was there with small town sense but I did not hear him. I don't know what to truly think of Vivek Ramaswamyand I think he's a big like a tv soap opera guy good at lines, the young actor type Vivek Ramaswamy seems to perform with 911 conspiracy. Young Hindu Tamil guy might be stumbling before he got moving, the BigPharma Guru Brahmin type who was in a BigPharma Canadian firm said Nikki Haley was on the board of Lockheed Martin pushing for war profits. I don't know if his talking points were hitting at times he just seemed like bad comedy, maybe he channels the powers of George Bush junior, Joseph Linus Barton and Alex Jones, other times he seems isolationist and calls climate change a ‘hoax’ who can explain climate better than some BigPharma Hindu Tamil financial guy? None if the Republican Candiates raised their hands when asked if the believe if mankind can change the environment or climate. The early Debate or Cacus or Primary thing is not just American political thing, it happens in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and South Africa, where it generally refers to a contest and meeting of all members. Everyone attacks the Biden Admin job at the border, a disaster of crime illegal immigration from Mexico coming across the Southern border.

Human induced global warming is not a hoax. It is a fact of life. We have changed thoroughly the surface of this planet. It is a very different place to what it was 10,000 years ago. Why do people find it hard to believe that we may have altered the atmosphere and increased global temperatures?
But global warming has been hijacked by various forces on the left. It has been a stalking horse for a lot of policies that really have nothing to do with mitigating it. The massive subsidies for a renewable energy buildout are a case in point. If the left actually wanted to mitigate human induced climate change, there are far more effective ways of doing it. But they aren't actually interested. It is just a cause that they can latch onto and use to push things that they advocate for other reasons. Those reasons are usually entirely aesthetic and would not be acceptable to most people on their own. So the political idealists need a pretext, an existential crisis that they can use to frighten people in accepting what they are pushing. That is what they have built global warming into. The idealists have a basket of rubbish solutions that they want to push on society. Global warming is just a convenient problem for them to use as a pretext. The green movement really has nothing to do with protecting the environment. It is a political ideology that uses environmental issues as a pretext. But the last thing any idealist wants to see is a problem solved. If problems are solved, then they can no longer use them. This is why these people hate nuclear power. It solves a problem that they need to have.

I see your post also kdb512 and looked it over. We are lucky that we escaped the little ice age due to industrialization perhaps/Maybe/I think. But I guess we might want to think about climate control. Some want to do it by bringing poverty, but there may be things that can be tried that might avoid that.
I would note that dust shading would probably run in parallel to building stuff in space from Moon materials.
