I believe the foregoing is a rather accurate description of official Catholic theology.
BWhite: I think it would be very difficult for the Catholic church to accept that God is not involved with us. They believe everything happens for a reason and that miracles come to those faithful enough. I can't accept that because it's just not what I see happening in the world. Bad things happen to good people.
We are on our own. I do not blame God for that and I don't presume to tell God how He chose to create the universe and humans.

The biggest heaven? The smallest hell? I believe heaven will prove far more populated, with a far more diverse crowd that the self-righteously religious currently believe, and preach.
I'd change that to "the obnoxiously religious".
Fair enough. Amendment acknowledged.

And I saw a great white throne, and I saw the one who was sitting on it. The earth and sky fled from his presence, but they found no place to hide. I saw the dead, both great and small, standing before God's throne. And the books were opened, including the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to the things written in the books, according to what they had done.

" And there was a war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon." So even in heaven, one can't be safe from war or dragons. 12:7

"Then did he raise on high the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, saying, "Bless this, O Lord, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy." And the people did rejoice and did feast upon the lambs and toads and tree-sloths and fruit-bats and orangutans and breakfast cereals ... Now did the Lord say, "First thou pullest the Holy Pin. Then thou must count to three. Three shall be the number of the counting and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither shalt thou count two, excepting that thou then proceedeth to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the number of the counting, be reached, then lobbest thou the Holy Hand Grenade in the direction of thine foe, who, being naughty in my sight, shall snuff it."
