Re: Martian Calender - I have created a martian calender...

Today on Mars:  <<-- Days of the week are out of alignment with those on Earth due to the longer Martian Day. September 2020 next alignment estimate.

Per http://www-mars.lmd.jussieu.fr/mars/tim … _time.html

Martian Year: 35        Martian Month in 12 month format: 7
Solar Longitude: 189.8  Sol Number: 389  Change is +.5 degrees <<== Must average .56+ to complete orbit in 668 Sols

Previous SL: 189.3     Previous Sol: 388

Note that Solar Longitude measurement varies as a function of location in orbit.

Note#2: https://theskylive.com/mars-tracker  This web site shows the astronomical position of Mars.
Note: The difference in kilometers shown below is NOT computed at the same time every Earth day.
Distance of Mars from the Sun is given by this web site in kilometers:  216,117,772 km Difference -158327
Previous distance of Mars from the Sun in the previous report in km: 216,276,099 km Difference -201239

Sol 389 is in Month 14 of a Proposed 24 month calendar. See Post 19 of Holidays topic for a summary.
Month 14 extends from Sol 363 through 390. See post 82 of Holidays topic for current details. <<== There are 28 days in Month 14

Sol 389 is Friday in the Proposed calendar for Mars.

The Next New Year's on Mars will occur when Solar Longitude reaches 360 degrees.
The next Skip Day will occur in May on Earth. A Skip Day occurs when the longer Mars Sol reaches 24 Earth hours.
For those who may be following this proposed calendar closely, there exists a "feature" I had not anticipated.
Days of the week fall behind Earth due to the longer Sol, but they gain when Friday is omitted at the end of a Quarter
