I will create a directory on our web server to serve up files directly from the server. All files stored there should be limited to registered New Mars Forums user-created original works, such as the various documents and books that GW has written pertaining to rocketry and orbital mechanics, or the drawings of engineering solutions that Calliban has created. Storing these files is not a major imposition, because the total quantity of data remains low. We will not be storing / hosting works created by other entities, such as NASA, private corporations, or other web sites run by people who are not registered members. There are both legal and practical reasons (space and storage cost) for doing this. NASA documentation on NTRS is technically public domain material, but it doesn't belong to New Mars Forums.

PS -- after posting this, I noticed the logout button is unresponsive. I've often seen that bbefore, in the older system. That fault is still there in this newer one.

I've never see this, but I ** have ** seen the login button unresponsive. My guess is the system is waiting for something, but I have no idea what.

I have copied the forum backup you created December first, to the Azure system. If we have time I'd be interested in running the update on Azure.
That way, I'll have a duplicate system we can use to test new features, such as the "like" button and the new "serve files" feature we are considering.

Right now our message reads: This forum is accepting new registrations via email. Please see Recruiting Topic
I'd like to change the words "Recruiting Topic" to a hot link to the topic.
I don't remember where that message is stored. It might be in the database, because (I think) it can be changed by the Administrator.
By making it easier for visitors to find out how to contact us we might get more inquiries.
The existing system requires the visitor to navigate the forum software.
