As of 15:15 local time (12:15 Tempe time) the morning session ended.
The afternoon sessions will include GW Johnson on Mars settlement in the Humanities track.

At 18:41 local time (15:41 Tempe time) I finally landed on one of GW Johnson's presentations.
This one is in Tech R&C track.
The slide showing at the moment is Hohmann to Mars
The next event is over in the Humanities track, where GW will be talking about settlement of Mars.

GW Johnson's next talk is:

Today is the last day of the 25th Mars Society Convention.
Sessions will start at 9 AM Tempe time, which is Noon for the Eastern Time Zone, and evening in Europe.
The sessions are broadcast over the Internet, using Zoom Webinar.
There is still time (I think) for anyone who might like to hear the closing sessions live to set up a connection.
What i learned as the convention progressed, is that the tracks are shown as options from the Lobby, so that it is possible to select one of the four tracks for viewing.
To this point, the mechanism for changing from one track to another, as I wanted to do yesterday to catch two of GW Johnson's tracks, is to close the Webinar service completely, and log back in to visit the lobby.
Aside from that little bit of inconvenience, I found the service reliable and (more importantly perhaps) rewarding, in that we (listeners/viewers) are able to enjoy most of the experience of hearing/seeing the folks assembled in Colorado to participate in this event.
I have an FM transmitter that delivers signal from the PC where the Webinar is running for a distance of about a city block, so I was able to follow the high school students yesterday while stacking leaves for pickup next week.
The equivalent capability ** may ** be available to someone running the Webinar on a Smartphone. I understand that may be an option.

The 25th Mars Society Convention is under way.
The opening speaker is Dr. Jingnan Guo
If there is a NewMars member who has not yet set up the Zoom Webinar connection to the Convention, I would imagine that option is still available. After application for a ticket, the system sends an email to the applicant, and a link in that email connects to the lobby.

The 25th Mars Society Convention is winding down.
The speaker at 15:00 local time (Noon Tempe time) is discussing material extraction.
I had to take some time away, but returned in time to realize that this talk looks well worth hearing in it's entirety.
at 15:01, Executive Director James Burk is on the screen, setting up for a talk by Stefano Nerozzi ...
Mars Ice Mapper Mission
ASI - CSA - JAXA - NASA - NSO1
Reconnaissance / MIM: An International Approach to Mapping Ice on Mars
(th)
Offline
At 15:30 local time, 12:30 Tempe time, Maraia Tanner began her talk about Star Harbor "The Center for Space"
This talk seemed to have a medical focus .... the speaker seemed to be thinking ahead to a time when regular people might be able to participate in the Mars venture, and she even touched on possibilities for persons with disabilities or limitations.
Executive Director James Burk announced a bonus opportunity for attendees and chapter members. Blue Origin will fly postcards filled out by respondents in a New Shepherd flight.
Dr. Zubrin is online for closing remarks at 15:47 local time (12:47 Tempe Time)
He is (apparently) closing with a reprise of his remarks given last night.
Update at 16:30 local time (13:30 Tempe time) .... Well! ** that ** was a call for action! To prevent war by showing that there is a positive future without false limits to resources, by settling Mars.
It took Dr. Zubrin a while to build up to his call for action, but he definitely got there.

Here's a nice surprise! The videos of the conference are (apparently) already online and available for viewing.
This would be in contrast to previous years (pre-Zoom Webinar) that (apparently) required personal attention to each video by Mars Society staff and volunteers.

My first priority is to see the talk by BeerMan!
The second is to catch the three talks by GW Johnson that I missed.
Third priority is to re-view sessions that I heard but did not see.
Fourth priority is to see any sessions that might be recommended, if there is feedback available.

This post is a follow up to #34
I opened the link provided in the email announcing availability of videos ... the link asked for the username and password set up to request a Virtual Ticket.
Upon acceptance of the credentials, this note appeared:
This event has ended
Thank you for attending the '2022 Mars Society Convention'. The event has
ended but you can still continue to explore the lobby until Tue, November 22, 2022 04:00PM Est.
[Continue in lobby]
There is a 32 second video at the top that I expect to play later. My guess is that this is a brief introduction to the recordings.
Below we have: Featured by Event Organizer (That would be Executive Director James Burk)
Peter Beck CEO Rocket Lab
Panel on Search for Life on Mars
Telerobotic Competition
In the upper right of the main page is a button: Explore Sessions
Now we're getting somewhere!
Many sessions are shown.... a highlight is "Saturday Evening Banquet" featuring Dr. Robert Zubrin
I scanned through the entire list and found many sessions I missed, but on the other hand, not one of the GW Johnson sessions were in the list as of today, or the presentation by Beerman.
It is possible the list will be extended. After all, this offering is available only hours after the conference ended.
All sessions were recorded, so more may be added to the list.

This post is a follow up to #35
I clicked on the video for Sunday marked with the name of the first speaker (Dr. Gao) and found it is the full day: 4 hours 47 minutes.
That implies the recordings offered for prior days might be similar ....
I clicked on the video and got: Mars Society Webinar
There is a long pause ... I ** hope ** the Zoom server is collecting data ... time noted: 9:29 local time .... still waiting ... I wonder if the server has to load the entire video to a staging machine .... still waiting ... Oh! The Chromebook laptop locked up .... it's not up to the job of showing the video.
The Chromebook OS came back to life having logged itself out of the Zoom session. Nice recovery! However, I just powered down and will try elsewhere.
The clue on offer is that all the sessions may be available with just the name of the first speaker in a track as a hint.

Follow up to #39
It appears that viewing of the recordings depends upon having a Virtual Ticket.
I'll pursue that and report back.
Reporting back a bit later:
This is the title of the opening of the Special track on Friday...
Special Presentations
Fri, Oct 21, 2022 04:00PM EDT
Yay! The video plays on this (more robust) machine .... I slide the time button to the right and landed on Bruce McKenzie
At 4 PM James Burke introduced a talk on Companion Dogs in Space.
I don't have sound at the moment. The sound indicators are all positive, so I may have a mechanical problem.
Yup! It was a "mechanical" problem .... output was going to the wrong port
Paul is up next...
The title slide says Paul is a PhD !!!
The sound cut out in the video, between the end of the talk about Dogs in Space, and the Start of Paul's talk
I paused at 4:27 with the opening slide on the screen but no sound ...
I had mis-remembered the title l... it is "Buzzed Lightyear"
Sound check Ok .... running early so will wait a moment in case someone else might show up in the onsite audience
I've paused the talk a few minutes in, having the luxury of coming back later.
I'd like to correct my impression ... Paul clarified that he co-owns a brewery, but is NOT a brewer.
I can see/hear that this is a talk worth seeing, if you are fortunate enough to have secured one of the free Virtual Tickets.
I ** was ** able to switch the ticket from one pc to another without difficulty, but Zoom insisted I log into their facility on each new system.
All in all, I am greatly encouraged that the entire conference may actually be online and completely accessible to those with Virtual Tickets.
There ** might ** be a way to secure a Virtual Ticket by becoming a Mars Society Member. I will try to remember to ask Executive Director James Burk the next time I get a chance to talk to him (or perhaps swap emails).

This post is intended to bring the topic about the 2022 Convention back into view for BeerMan.
The topic contains a report on how to see BeerMan's talk if you have a Virtual Ticket.
I am hoping that the talks might be transferred to YouTube as individual talks. However, it may be helpful for our two speakers to request assistance from the Mars Society, to make that happen.
if someone discovers talks made available on YouTube for all to see, please post that news here.
In Post #42, Mars_B4_Moon provided a link to a talk from the Convention.
