Not really this is how Jupiter would look like at 0,8 AU. Earths orbit would no doubt be perturbed (even Mars does that) but not enough to be captured by Jupiter.
Note that this is around the closest aproach they could be as far as 2 AU apart. So it would grow and shrink noticeable

Nice Did you know that if Jupiter and Mars switched places, then Jupiter would be observeble as a disk
